[Information for 2018-2019 course selection coming soon]

In an effort to more efficiently complete our course selection process for the coming year, we have made some notable adjustments to this massive process and timeline in which we meet with students in grades 8-11.

In a nutshell, we will not be meeting individually with students at the high school as we have in previous years. Instead, we will be using a process much like what we use at the Junior High and meeting with students in small groups – specifically, in English classes at the high school and in math classes (per usual) at the Junior High. For everyone, the time of year that this takes place will be several weeks earlier than it has been in the past.

We will begin with initial, large group meetings on Thursday, January 12, 2017 where we will use the following schedule to communicate general information, updates, deadlines and expectations to the students:

1st hour (HS Auditorium) – All current 9th graders
2nd hour (HS Auditorium) – All current 10th graders
3rd hour (HS Auditorium) – All current 11th graders
ELT (Jr. High Cafeteria) – Current 8th graders with last names A-K
ELT (Jr. High Gym) – Current 8th graders with last names L-Z

From there, students will have anywhere from 5-10 days to consider their options, talk with their parents, and select their courses for next year. An informational meeting for parents of current 8th graders will be held in the high school auditorium on Wednesday, January 18th from 6-7pm.

We will use the schedule linked below to meet with students in smaller groups and review their course choices. Students’ course selections will be cross-checked against graduation and college admission requirements at this time and adjusted as necessary.

Please be sure to make note on your calendars of any dates that affect your student(s) and be reminded that the MSHS Course Guide is available online at any time:
