OPPORTUNITIES

WORK PERMIT - Are you looking for a job but you're not 16 years old? You could get a work permit.

BOYS STATE / GIRLS STATE - A seven-day hands-on experience in the operation and fundamentals of government.

HUGH O'BRIAN YOUTH LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION (HOBY) - An organization dedicated to training and nurturing the young leaders of tomorrow by providing leadership development opportunities that empower youth to achieve their highest potential.

C-U VOLUNTEER - A partnership between the United Way of Champaign County and the Illini Union Office of Volunteer Programs. A great site for students looking for volunteer opportunities in the area.

DO SOMETHING - Do Something is a non-profit organization with the goal of motivating young people to take action around social changes through national campaigns and grants for projects that make an impact.

CARLE CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - Volunteers are assigned a mentor who oversees their experience to make it both informative and educational. While students are not directly involved with patient treatment, they help Carle employees with equipment and other patient care related duties. A great opportunity for students considering a career in medicine.
